Uses of PE film

As introduced before, our disposable PE gloves are made of PE film, one kind of plastic. For this reason, disposable PE gloves are called “disposable plastic gloves” or “disposable plastic film gloves” too.

At the same time, are there any other uses of PE film?

Let us talk about this plastic film further. Besides disposable gloves, PE film is commonly used for packaging, such as packing foods, electrical appliances, daily necessities, clothes, etc. What these packs have one thing in common is that the letters and patterns are often printed on the film. Also, special production technologies such as multilayer compounding or vacuum aluminum coated are required if packing foods.

The characteristics of the PE film for packaging:

1. Adhesive force and wet tension are sufficient, which make it sure that the printing ink, binder or aluminum coating adhere to the film strongly.

2. Since the PE film is thin and soft, it’s easy to adhere to each other or skid in the process of producing and winding the film. So, the surface needs necessary force of friction.

3. The PE film must be anti-static and so on when packing electric and electronic products.

Besides, how to meet the above requirements?  it needs surface treatment. Usually there are 4 methods of surface treatment: Corona, Chemical method, Mechanical roughening and Coating. Among these methods corona is commonly used.
